A famous watering hole on Christopher street, located next to the Path Train entrance, Chi Chiz is a neighborhood gay bar primarily frequented by men of colors.

Black or white, everyone should stop by for a drink (they are cheap and strong) and to enjoy the unique ambiance of this West Village institution.

The place is a no-frills, friendly, community bar frequented by an incredible mix of people, from long-time village residents, to the latest generation of Christopher Street kids, and from thugged-out, masculine brothers from the Bronx, Harlem or Newark, to flamboyant fem-queens.

Weekend nights are packed with a dense crowd, enjoying the vibrant, social atmosphere of the bar, grooving to the urban beats of the DJ or playing pool in the back of the room.

Chi Chiz is a quintessential West Village hang-out and a rallying point for New York’s gay black community.
