BBQ
261 8th Avenue (between 8th and 9th)
New York, NY 10011
The BBQ restaurant on 23rd street is has a very much “Harlem meets Chelsea” kind of vibe, which makes for a very exciting place to have a good and fulfilling dinner.
The dishes are simple and really not expensive, and the menu offers excellent meats, in particular roasted chicken, chicken wings, and all sorts of ribs and steaks. All that is not very dietetic, but the most voracious appetites will appreciate these copious dishes which have the merit off filling you up quite nicely! BBQ is located just across from the New York Sports Club on 23rd street, and it is thus the ideal place to go replenish after a good work-out. In addition to Chelsea gym queens, this restaurant is also a favorite among the Black and Latin crowd, both straight and gay. This mix of ethnicities, genders and sexual orientations among the patrons makes BBQ a unique social melting pot with a definite ghetto fabulous twist. And what makes BBQ such a great destination is most definitely its humongous “Texas Size’ frozen drinks, served with a complimentary extra shot. Cheap and strong, these fabulous drinks are the best way to kick start and evening of fun and debauchery in Chelsea.
