HK

523 9th Avenue (at 39th Street)
New York, NY 10018

Patronized by a hip clientele of your urban professionals and trendy hipsters, HK has established itself as a symbol of the quick gentrification that has swept the neighborhood.

Located in the very south of the trendy Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, HK is a sophisticated and contemporary American diner, serving quality and tasty comfort food. The room is split between a large bar serving excellent cocktails (especially the mojitos) and a main dining area, offering a very sleek and modern interior with white and chrome furniture. It is especially great for brunch on Sundays with all you can drink Mimosas, Bellinis, Bloody Mary's, and champagne for a small price, and a wide selection of omelets, salads, burgers and club sandwiches. The atmosphere is young and hip, and it is a great place to have dinner before hitting the neighboring clubs or after attending a theatre show on Broadway. Service can be inconsistent and a bit slow on occasion. Overall, the place offers pretty good value and the entrees are very copious and tasty. A few favorites from the menu include the humongous Entrecote Grilled a l’Echalotte, the mussel Provencal, the charcoal grilled whole calamari or the Escargots (snails).
