We learned from the New York Daily News that club M2 which was home to the long running Alegria party (mainly under its former Crobar incarnation) is set to re-open, after it pays a fine for its alleged poor enforcement of New York’s smoking ban. For now, no venue change has been announced for the highly anticipated 10th anniversary event of Alegria set to take place this labor day weekend at the Nokia Theatre. By all accounts, the Nokia theatre worked out very well for the gay pride event, except when patrons had to face their walk of shame as the exited the venue in the broad daylight of a busy summer monday afternoon, smack dab in the middle of the hordes of tourists and workers that pack Times Square at this time of the day.
