Harmonica Sunbeam resumes her long running weekly Tea Dance at Splash and brings back a new Stripper Contest open to members of the audience.

The legendary Harmonica Sunbeam makes her return with a new residency at the illustrious club Splash in Chelsea where she will host her long running Sunday evening Tea Dance featuring her unmistakable brand of rolling-on-the-floor-laughing-out-loud comedy and her awkward and outrageous stripper contest.

The only slight tweak to her winning recipe is that audience participation to the stripper contest is now available. So, if you have enough sense of humor to be nicely ridiculed on stage by the towering diva to maybe win a few bucks, feel free to sign up. We’re thrilled to see the delightful Harmonica returns to the stage, after her 12 year stint at Escuelita, which ended sourly a few months ago.

We’ve always been positively inclined towards the colorful 39th street Latin gay club, but we must admit that her move to the hallowed halls of Splash will definitely be a welcomed step up for Miss Sunbeam, and will hopefully allow her to gain a broader exposure and conquer a new following within the admittedly more ‘bourgeois’ clientele of the famed Chelsea establishment.

DJ Fred Pierce joins the Tea Dance team and is tasked with the challenge of bringing some life into the downstairs basement of Splash. But we trust that his sophisticated style blending pumping tribal beats and old-school house grooves, and his loyal following of die hard house heads will contribute to the success of Splash new sunday soiree.
It’s a welcome burst of flavor for Splash, which had been struggling to successfully fill the sunday night slot, after trying many short lived formulas – from twink night to disco bash.

There is a $5 cover after 9PM and the show should start around 9:30, or whenever Miss Sunbea is ready.

The drama unfolds as Harmonica Sunbeam quits Escuelita.

Ending her 12 year tenure as the host of Escuelita’s weekly Sunday night Tea Dance, Harmonica Sunbeam has decided to move on to better and bigger things. Harmonica had voiced her discontent with the way things were being run at Escuelita in the past but now she has decided to jump off the ship. As there are always more than one side to a story, you can read here Harmonica’s announcement, and there is her former boss’ response. The new sunday night party at Escuelita is now called Steam Sundays, featuring a bevy of sexy strippers courtesy of Tommy G.
